KAUFMAN, MARY JOY, age 68, peacefully went to be with our Lord on Monday, March 27, 2006. She was born in McDonald, PA and moved to Central Florida in 1947. She graduated from Winter Park High School in 1956 and attended the University of Florida for two years. Mary began her career at the University of Central Florida when it was first established as Florida Technological University. She was the Associate Athletic Director and Senior Women's Administrator. Mary was very passionate about the University of Central Florida, women's sports. While working, she achieved her Master's degree from the University of Central Florida in Applied Sociology in 1993. Mary lived her life with character and integrity and was always one to give a gentle smile and a twinkling eye to any situation. Mary was an amazing and loyal friend. The affection she held for her mother, children and grandchildren is a shining example of unconditional love; may we all aspire to be such a soul. She is survived by her mother, Mary Elizabeth Joy; daughter, Sherri Inger Standridge; son, Gordon J. Noice; grandson, Stefan Gupta; granddaughter, Erin Gupta; nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Diltz, Bill Joy, Jennifer Ramos, Amanda Cairns, Gavrielle Ramos, Robert Ramos, Brittany Ramos; son-in-law, Richard Standridge and daughter-in-law, Iwalani Isbell. She was preceded in death by her father, William D. Joy; brother, William B. Joy and uncle, James Allison. A memorial service will be held at the Carey Hand Cox-Parker Funeral Home on Saturday, April 1, 2006, viewing from 10AM to 12 Noon and service to follow. Interment will take place at Glen Haven Memorial Park, 2300 Temple Drive, Winter Park. A scholarship has been established in Mary's honor for women student athletes.
